The Cyberpunk anime is on my top list of anime
Let me start out by saying that when the Cyberpunk anime first released, I was NOT excited. I knew the kind of things people had said about the game and overall, it just wasn’t something I was interested in. After a few of my friends were about halfway through the anime, on day one, they all told me how amazing it was, so I through why not give it a shot. I was NOT disappointed!
This anime is honestly everything that I hope for in an anime! The visuals were stunning and who doesn’t love a great depiction of a futuristic world. The main character David wasn’t your typical OP main character who just had to find himself. While he was lost in this world we call life, he found his way and met people and you really watch him grow up. The relationship that David, his comrades and Lucy develop is mapped out in real-time and you immediately become invested and want to root for them.
The creator did an amazing job showing off each of the characters specialties and even their flaws. The fight scenes were also amazing and very well animated. I fell in love with the story, the environment and the music as well. I’m not one to usually get emotional but man…they know how to you with your emotions! They even got me debating on buying the Cyberpunk game and having fun in the world myself! Overall, this has been my favorite anime of this year so far (Classroom of the elite season 2 is very close however). Also, if you’re interested in the game, they have fixed a lot of the bugs they had before and the modding community is quickly making it resemble the anime itself!
If you’ve been on the fence about whether or not you should watch this anime, then let me be the one to tell you to do it. You won’t be disappointed, but you might cry! I hope more anime and creators can take inspiration from the Cyberpunk anime and continue to deliver some unique masterpieces to us!
